FORM, FUNCTION, and FIT
10-Hour Katonah Workshop
with Chelsea Delle Palme
June 12-14, 2026
Fee $320
FRIDAY JUNE 12TH - 2.5 HOURS
FORM MASTERCLASS - EVENING
Form is the foundation of experience. First, we embody, then we are able to integrate with, adapt to, and participate in life’s flow. It is the seed of all that comes after. The same is true in a yoga practice. First, we set up the conditions, then we play within their boundaries. In this Katonah yoga masterclass, we will explore structure as the container for grounding currency, expanding volume, and honing focus. Like the flower-pot makes a home for the seed to become, our practice brings us home to the innate intelligence of our design.
SATURDAY JUNE 13TH - 5 HRS
FUNCTION MASTERCLASS - MORNING
Paradise is a walled garden - meaning that within a contained environment, creativity flourishes. Once we’ve set up the formality of our physical poses, we can then explore their function, with the goal of traversing new, yet unused, territory in the body. Form births function, just as the seed becomes the flower. With that perspective, our practice becomes a blossoming thing. In this masterclass, we will evolve our formal practice to incorporate more flourish, freedom, and grace.
MAGIC SQUARE WORKSHOP - AFTERNOON
The Katonah yoga ‘Magic Square’ is a meditation map derived from the Taoist template of the Lo Shu. The wisdom held within the 9x9 structure tessellates and integrates theory into practice. First, we learn the basic structure, then we map a route through it. Once we are on route, the square builds out more dimension as a cube, then as a sphere. There is an inherent evolution in the wisdom of its frame. The many dimensions of the Magic Square can help us look at issues in the body, dilemmas in the mind, and how they relate and radiate out into our lives. We will learn the Magic Square as a map, travel it with breathwork and meditation, and follow it through with Sunday’s body reading workshop.
SUNDAY JUNE 14TH - 2.5 HRS
BODY READING
A central metaphor in the Katonah yoga cannon is the Body as the Abode - where your past, presence, and potential are housed. When we body read, we are asking to be let into someone’s interior landscape, their house, by virtue of being able to decode and interpret the exterior patterns. First, it’s imperative to get permission to enter. Then it’s essential to lead with technique. Using yoga poses to iron out wrinkles and open up portals in the body enables currency to flow in transformative ways. Skill grounds the experience. Time, repetition and technique always underpin the mystical and magical. In this workshop, we will read the body as a map, a house, and a code as a means to make magic real.
About Chelsea:
“For me, teaching is the central pillar in a life filled with a myriad of influences, experiences, areas of study and interest. My own personal practice and development sets up the foundation for this pillar to rise, and be a living backbone for my understanding of this multilayered, at times ineffable, world we live in. Through the contact and communication of teaching yoga, I become more myself. More potent, more vibrant, more alive. Most concisely put, this practice of becoming is what I hope to share with my students.”
Chelsea is a yoga, breathwork, and meditation teacher, musician, writer, and fledgling homesteader. Her teaching experience began 10 years ago in Montreal, Quebec. In her first year of teaching, she discovered and devoted herself to the study of Katonah Yoga with Nevine Michaan and Abbie Galvin - to whom she attributes all of her capacity, technical skill, and spunk. She lives on Lasqueti Island, British Columbia.
Chelsea will be available for private sessions and may also be guest-teaching our regular classes when she is here.
